Featured topic: The Governor's "California Performance Review"

The Southern California Water Dialogue will meet on Tuesday, September 21st from noon - 3 pm at Metropolitan Water District of Southern California headquarters, 700 N. Alameda, Los Angeles, (213) 217-6000.

Lunch will be served at 11:30 am (RSVP to [email protected] if you plan on joining us for lunch).

Meeting Information

  • The Governor's "California Performance Review" (CPR) - How might the recently released California Performance Review affect water management in the state? How do the various water constituencies view the report? What elements of the review could be reflected in the Governor's 2005 budget? The Water Dialogue will feature a discussion of the California Performance Review. The California Performance Review is a 2,500 page report that proposes to "blow up the boxes" of state government to save money and improve efficiency.

  • Legislative Session Wrap-Up - Pilar Onate, Principal Legislative Representative, MWD
Note: The public hearing on the State Water Plan - Bulletin 160 has been rescheduled for November. The date, time, and location of the meeting will be announced.

Southern California Water Dialogue Mission Statement: Participants in the Southern California Water Dialogue meet voluntarily to explore water-related issues of vital interest to our region. The Dialogue serves as a clearinghouse and advocate for projects, activities, and processes that will improve the quality and reliability of Southern California's water supply and benefit the California Bay-Delta Authority (Authority). The Dialogue also is an avenue to represent Southern California's interests to the Authority and provide information about the Authority to our region.
